Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is where our services began. Though now we also use lasers for certain treatments we continue to use IPL for the following conditions as it has proven to be the most effective method of tackling these particular body problems. We want you to have the body you want, the one you feel most comfortable and happy in. So if recently you haven’t been feeling that way, check out the treatments below to see which one is right for you.

Rosacea Treatment

Rosacea is a condition where the veins (usually, but not only in the face) enlarge creating a red appearance, left untreated the redness can get darker, veins start to become more noticeable, bumps and pimples can appear, the nose can become swollen and the eyes bloodshot. There are a wide range of treatments available but here we use a two pronged approach. With a nutritional therapist on hand to help with lifestyle advice, food intolerances and vitamin or mineral deficiencies you can find out what is triggering the rosacea and make any needed changes to combat it. This is combined with our trained laser practitioners highly skilled in using the IPL machines to reduce the actual rosacea symptoms. This combination attack is what sets us apart from other clinics and makes our treatment so successful.

Thread Vein Removal

Thread veins are tiny veins under the skin that have become dilated, the valves start to weaken and blood can flow back through the veins. As you get older and the skin becomes thinner these little veins start to be noticeable through the skin. They are most common in the legs as blood flows downwards and can pool there slightly but they can appear on any part of your body. They can be caused by pregnancy, menopause, sun or wind exposure and being overweight to name a few. IPL works by firing pulses of light into the affected area, it is precisely calibrated so that the haemoglobin absorbs the light rather than your skin. This absorption damages the blood vessel walls and your body’s natural processes then take away these damaged tissues. Resulting in less visible veins close to the surface of your skin.

Photo Rejuvenation

To rejuvenate means to make young again or to restore youthful vigour and that is exactly what photo rejuvenation can do for you. Photo ageing occurs naturally but is intensified by the sun and certain other factors, such as smoking. By battling the signs of ageing such as fine lines, wrinkles, age-spots, sun-spots and broken capillaries your skin gets restored back to a more youthful appearance. IPL treats all of these different signs of photo-ageing simultaneously and is therefore a very versatile treatment which can be tailored around your individual needs. This treatment is most usually done on the face, neck or hands. Not only does it tackle those marks and spots but it also has an effect on the stimulation of collagen in the skin meaning that the body itself helps to repair your skin, improve elasticity and diminish those wrinkles.

Sun Damage & Sun Spots

As the years go by and your time in the sun adds up with days in the park, holidays abroad or trips to the beach, certain unwanted signs of these times in the sun can show up on your skin. These are known as sun spots or more generally sun damage. Too much time in the sun can age the appearance of your skin, leaving you looking older than you are or feel. IPL works by firing precisely calibrated beams of light into these spots which work to break down the melanin particles causing these spots. Once the melanin is broken down into tiny particles your body can naturally get rid of them. Leaving your skin smoother and with less blemishes. You will find that your skin looks younger and more revitalised, hopefully to match how you feel, leaving you able to enjoy with confidence many more days in the sun.

Leg Vein Removal

As you get older the little veins in your legs start to become more pronounced and noticeable through your skin. This can just be mild with a few or it can get as bad as a network of veins visible all over your legs. This is because of two main reasons, one is that your skin gets thinner as the years go by and so it is easier to see things through the skin. The second is that as you age the veins get weaker and the valves stop working so well, meaning that some blood instead of flowing back up to your heart can flow backwards and pool in your legs. These things combined can create a network of unsightly leg veins. IPL fires light into these veins and the haemoglobin absorbs it, this causes damage to the blood vessel wall, the body then naturally gets rid of these damaged tissues meaning that less and less of these little veins are visible. Meaning your legs can go back to looking beautiful.
