Laser is recognised as the Gold standard in perminantly removing your unwanted hair. Unlike the rival IPL it can remove hair a lot faster and more importantly remove it safely. IPL should only be used on skin types 1-3 and as it engages with the upper dermis of the skin so closley, it increases the chance of side effects.
We offer FREE consultations on all our services including Laser Hair Removal, we can then determine which laser would be more suited to your needs, which could vary depending on area to area as well as a final cost and give you aftercare advice too.

WHY LASER HAIR REMOVAL?
- The procedure is virtually painless especially with the Soprano XL
- Once the root is destroyed it is permanent
- It saves you money compared with a lifetime of waxing and bleaching
- It will reduce ingrown hairs
- There is no down time - you can carry on with your daily routine
- You will see the benefits after your 2nd treatment, some even after their 1st laser treatment! -
How does laser hair removal work?
The lasers used for laser hair removal are aimed at the certain area of the skin then selectively absorb pigment in to the hair follicle. The pigment is heated and the hair follicle is destroyed without damaging the surrounding tissue. The hair will slowly start to fall out, roots that have been destroyed in that session will not produce another hair.Read more -
How is treatment Done?
This depends on the laser.Typically diode lasers require gel, which is first applied on to the skin and have a cold tip. This is placed on the skin and a short pulse of light is released, which targets many hair follicles at once. The chilled tip is then moved to the next area of skin and the process is repeated until the entire area is treated.
Alexandrite and NDYAG hair removal lasers can be used with or without gel. Similarly it is placed on the skin and short pulses are released. However, to cool the skin they have a cryogen attachment, which discharges shots of cold air at the same time as the laser to cool the skin.

who is suitable for Treatment?
All skin types are suitable for laser hair removal at the Pulse Light Clinic as we have a variety of lasers. The best results are achieved with clients who have lighter skin and dark hair. Dark hair is more easily treated as it has a high concentration of the pigment melanin. Fair hair has less melanin and is more difficult to treat and may require more treatments or one of our stronger lasers. Grey/white hair has no melanin and is not suitable for laser treatment. What does laser Treatment feel like?

The Soprano XL is a state of the art procedure, a Diode laser specially designed to remove unwanted hair faster, more comfortably, and with fewer visits than ever before. It gradually heats the hair follicle whilst the hand piece is passed over the same area constantly. It is said to feel like a hot stone massage.
The NDYAG and Alexandrite lasers have the cool air which reduces the pain greatly, although some more sensitive areas can feel like an elastic band hitting against the skin. -
how does it look after laser hair removal treatment?
The dead hairs coming through the skin are shed after 1 – 3 weeks. During this period the hairs will seem to ‘grow’ as they are pushed out by the new skin. After the 2nd treatment, depending on skin and hair type the area can begin to look patchy.
-
Are There any side effects of laser hair removal treatment?
The skin may be red immediately after treatment and the hair follicles where the skin has been treated may be raised and bumpy, this usually subsides within a few hours but can take up to 48 hours on some clients. Very few people experience itching a few days later as the hair is pushed out.

-
How many treatments are needed?
The laser light targets only hair that is actively growing in the Anaphase. Therefore multiple treatments are necessary to treat hair at other stages of growth. Treatment is conducted every 4 weeks on the face and 6-7 weeks on the body. The required number of treatments varies, but usually 6-8 are needed for optimum results.
-
How long does each treatment take?
Laser hair removal sessions can take from 5 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the area. For example upper lip takes 5 minutes whereas full legs or back could be at least 45 minutes.

Consultation
Before any laser hair removal treatment, the client has a consultation with one of our laser specialists, in which a medical history is taken to confirm suitability for treatment. This is also an opportunity for any questions the client may have to be answered. A patch test is done at the same time.
