At the Pulse Light Clinic, we offer a private and thorough consultation. Our Highly trained nurse practitioner will then determine an IPL treatment plan for each new patient, taking into account the severity of skin conditions being treated, as well as skin type. On average, three to six treatments are recommended, scheduled at three to four week intervals. Each session usually lasts about 40-45 minutes, with patients returning to normal activity immediately afterwards. IPL treatments provide gradual, natural improvement with excellent long-term results
It would be useful if you arrive with no makeup on. We apply a cold gel on the area to be treated. Dark glasses are also provided to protect your eyes from the bright light. The hand piece is gently applied to your skin and pulses of light are applied. the feeling of the light being applied has frequently been described as a slight sting and sometimes even as having a small rubber band flicked at your skin
During treatment the glass surface of the IPL hand piece is gently applied to the skin, normally by our trained nurse practitioner. Light is delivered to the skin surface in gradient movements.
IPL treats the damaged superficial layer of the skin, while delivering thermal energy to deeper tissue. Clinical studies are now available to measure the effect this energy has on collagen production, which helps firm and tighten the skin.
Depending on the number of conditions you are treating, and severity of the individual problem, a series of four to six treatment sessions may be recommended. You can return to work the same day and resume all your regular activities.
By dividing the full program into several treatments the procedure provides gradual improvement with very low risk – and, it preserves the wonderful “no down time” feature that people really appreciate.
