Laser Hair Removal Russel Square
If hair removal is taking up too much of your time or you find yourself worrying about excess or unwanted hair, then it is time to make a change. Waxing and shaving are the most common methods of hair removal but they can be time consuming and frustrating as well as causing ingrown hairs or unpleasant stubble while growing back. Laser hair removal is the perfect option to avoid all of these things. No ingrown hairs and not time consuming as it is in fact a permanent hair removal method.
The lasers work by firing strong laser light into the skin which is attracted to the melanin in the hair. This means the strong light does not damage your tissue and instead focuses on the root of the hair. This light damages or destroys the hair follicle which then stops growing more hairs.
After your treatments the dead hair will start to shed, it may look like they are growing but they are just being pushed out by the skin. As you continue on with your treatments the area can start to go patchy and then stop growing all together.
Here at Pulse Light Clinic we recently opened our second clinic just around the corner from Russel Square. We have over 15 years of expertise in the laser industry and masses of experience dealing with all varieties of skin and hair types. We own a variety of different hair removal lasers meaning that we can tailor the programme directly around you and what your skin needs. Everyone’s skin and hair is slightly different and having the laser that is suitable to you is vital for giving you the best results possible.
We deliver hair removal on all body parts for both men and women. We have two registered nurses on site and all of our practitioners go through rigorous training. We are open six days a week and are open until 8pm on weekdays. We also offer same day free consultations and if you want to see client feedback then check out our rave reviews on Google Plus.

At your initial consultation the practitioner will discuss with you exactly what the best choices are for you. This may include doing a small test with more than one laser to see how your skin and hair reacts. This way we can be certain that we use the right lasers for you and you get the best results possible.
As well as seeing the great hair removal results if you have trouble with ingrown hairs and unwanted skin pigmentation you will see a great improvement in that too.
Laser Hair Removal for Men
Laser hair removal is hassle free and doesn’t take regular treatments for life, for this reason it is becoming more and more popular with men, once the course of treatments is complete, you are finished, the hair permanently removed for life. In fact, about 50% of our clients are now men.
Another popular treatment for men is hair reduction. If you feel you have excessive hair but don’t want to be smooth and hair free then hair reduction is the perfect treatment for you. All you need to do is have a normal treatment but stop your course of treatments at the right point for you, at the level of hair that you want to achieve.
Due to the higher levels of testosterone that men have, it requires more treatments to achieve smooth, hair free skin than women. Most men require a minimum of 8 treatments and usually up to 4 top up treatments to completely remove all the hair.
- How long does a treatment take?
This will depend on the size of the body part being treated, a small area could be as little as five minutes and a larger area, as long as an hour.
- How many treatments will I need?
A usual course treatments would consist of 6-8 appointments. Once you get started on your treatments your practitioner should be able to tell you more exactly what you will personally need.
- What precautions should I take throughout my treatments?
Avoid sun exposure at least two weeks before your treatment, wait for tanned skin to fade before beginning your treatments. Do not bleach, pluck or wax during your course of treatments or in the run up to your first treatment.
- How long a gap do I need between treatments?
For facial hair you will need a gap of four weeks between appointments, and for treatments on the body you will need about a gap of six weeks. This is because the hair cycle on these different types of hairs varies slightly and it is important to catch the hair during an active stage.
- Is it painful?
There is some mild discomfort but nothing unbearable. It is often described as similar to having an elastic band pinged against your skin. If you are finding it difficult, then just tell your practitioner who can pause or give you some soothing gel.
