As well as having antioxidant properties, it is also full of minerals and other healthy things like magnesium, potassium, carotene, protein, fiber and an enzyme called papain that provides many health benefits.

You may be used to eating papaya but here are the amazing beauty benefits of putting it on your skin or hair.

Nourishes Hair

These vitamins and minerals when applied directly to your hair help it to increase in volume, thickness and shine. It even can help with baldness or split ends.

You want to make the papaya into a mask, you can do this in many ways but yogurt and coconut oil also have great benefits for your hair and these three ingredients can make an excellent mask. Rub thoroughly over damp hair after washing it as normal. Leave it in for about 30 minutes and then wash thoroughly off.

 Facial Hair Thinner

The enzyme in Papaya when used regularly can actually help to weaken the hair follicles which prevents re-growth of the hair. An excellent method of thinning out un-wanted hair.

You can either rub the Papaya directly onto your skin or you can mix it with some yogurt or coconut oil to make a paste. Leave on for a few minutes and then wash off.

You can apply a slice of papaya directly onto your face, rubbing gently for a few minutes and then washing off or if you have the time and equipment you can extract the juice from the papaya and apply this with a cotton ball. Leave it for a few minutes and then wash off.

You do need to mix this into a scrub with a few other ingredients. Most recommended are mixing the papaya with honey, salt and olive oil. Use in the shower as any body scrub.
