How does Profound treatment work for Stretch Marks?
Profound RF treats stretch marks by releasing strong radio-frequency (RF) energy to the level of dermal scarring of stretch marks, thereby destroying scar issues and promoting new and healthier skin. This leads to fading of the stretch mark removal.
Will Stretch Marks be completely removed forever?
Stretch marks that have been removed will not return. However, as the skin ages and loses elasticity or due to hormonal changes, there is a chance of stretch marks reappearing.
What is the aftercare?
Post treatment you will notice the area to be swollen, red and bruised. This can vary from person to person as some may be able to cover the bruising or may need a week of social downtime depending on the area of treatment. The swelling in cases can get worse for a few days before it begins to improve. We provide detailed aftercare by email reminders to all the clients following their treatment.
Do I need to prepare anything for the treatment?
In darker skin types, sometimes it is necessary to prepare the skin for the procedure in order to minimise risks of pigmentation. Our doctor conducts a thorough consultation prior to the procedure and if needed, prescribed topical creams to prepare the skin.
How soon can results be seen?
Some clients have started to see results from a single treatment in two weeks as the body builds new collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. It is reported that three-six months is the maximum before you will see the full results for stretch mark removal.
How many treatments will I need?
Profound is usually a one-off treatment but the course of treatments recommended will vary from client to client.
