Flowers blossoming and the sun shining can only mean one thing. Summer is hitting London! Alongside the benefits to our Instagram photos, the sun coming out to play also means our legs can stop being hidden away.
Spring/Summer catwalk shows are always filled with beautiful flowing dresses and short skirts and short sleeved tops. However, this does mean that those areas where we get unwanted hair growth will be on display for the city to see.
Some shops have taken to stocking lightweight material clothing, perfect to wear on a warm day without worrying about hair being on display.
British favourite Marks and Spencers highlighted their love of denim has continued into their summer lines, with lightweight materials and flared ends. There tops and dresses are also focused on cap or ¾ length sleeves incorporating this season’s key colours; yellow and fuchsia.
Burberry also opted for hiding those underarms in there Spring collection, often going for off-the-shoulder cuts. They did also opt for bulky knitwear, perhaps not ideal for this current whether but it is Britain, we never know what mother nature will throw at us.
When it came to dresses though, Jasper Conran kept his long and lean with fitting tops and flowing bottoms to show off all those lovely curves but keep legs slightly hidden.
Of course, when it comes to S/S17 the main thing is to keep confident and keep comfy! If you are feeling restricted or uncomfortable then clearly what you’re wearing isn’t working. Hair can always be removed but those photographs of you in a beautiful flowing dress, they’ll be kept forever!
