Micro-needling with the Dermapen
Dermapen you may have heard of, but not really know what it is. To rejuvenate means to make young again or to restore youthful vigour. If your skin is looking a little worse for wear, it will usually be caused by general ageing and effects of the sun, and that is what rejuvenating techniques like a micro-needling address.
Micro-needling is an effective form of rejuvenation, tackling scarrings, such as acne scars or stretch marks, dark spots and freckles caused by the sun, as well as skin laxity, wrinkles, and large pores.
The Dermapen is a brand-new method of micro-needling. The Dermapen is passed over the area to be treated, and inserts tiny needles into the skin, leaving minute puncture wounds. These tiny punctures trigger the body’s wound healing response and encourage the body to renew the skin cells in that area. While the body repairs the skin, it increases the production of collagen and elastin, immediately plumping the area, and causing a diminishment to wrinkles. As the body repairs the skin you will also see scarring, dark marks and sun damage decreasing.
Micro-needling is suitable for:
- Sun damage
- Wrinkles
- Hyperpigmentation
- Rosacea
- Enlarged Pores
- Scarring
- Stretch marks
Micro Needling in London
If you are unhappy with your skin, be it from old acne scars, age or sun spots, or the general fading of youth from your face, non-surgical facial rejuvenation is ideal. With the Dermapen no surgery or recovery time is required and in just a few short treatments you will see remarkable results, not only will the increased elastin and collagen plump up your face, but old scars and marks will fade away too.
Micro-needling is also effective for alopecia and general hair regeneration. The process works in much the same way; as the wound healing response takes place, it stimulates blood circulation and increases nutrients reaching the hair follicles, this combined with the stimulation of proteins in the area can result in new hair growth.

DermaPen® FAQ's
How Does the Dermapen Work?
The derma pen is taken over the area of skin to be treated, and tiny needles cause minute punctures to the skin. These small punctures stimulate the body’s inherent healing response, which naturally rejuvenates the skin.
How many micro-needling treatments will I need?
It is recommended on average to receive 3-6 sessions with the Dermapen, for a more personal estimate, just ask your technician for your initial consultation.
How often should you do a dermapen treatment?
Micro-needling is safe to repeat every 4-6 weeks until you reach the wanted results. We suggest starting with three treatments for collagen induction but with a minimum separation time of 4 to 6 weeks between treatments. For scar removal, an average of 3 to 6 treatments is recommended.
What results can I expect from a Dermapen treatment?
You should experience an overall rejuvenation of the skin treated. This can show up as a decrease in wrinkles, sun damage, rosacea, scarring, and hyperpigmentation, as well as an increase in overall skin elasticity.
What can I expect following the micro-needling treatment?
You may experience temporary redness and swelling in the area that was treated, this will go down after a few hours, or maximally a few days.
Is dermapen suitable for acne scars?
DermaPen has been practised to reduce acne scars for several years now. Micro-needling technology splits up the fibrous tissues and stimulates the growth of new, healthier tissue. The process of micro-needling creates micro-punctures on the face.
Are the micro-needling treatments painful?
One of the Dermapen benefits is the increased comfort compared to older methods of micro needling, and so you should feel only minimal discomfort. If you are worried about any pain, just ask your practitioner and she will be able to advise you on the best way to manage it.
Is DermaPen the same as Microneedling?
DermaPen has 12 tiny needles that vibrate quickly while performing the small scars on the epidermis. DermaPen is safer and powerful when puncturing the skin compared to regular derma rollers. DermaPen will provide you with better results than dermal rollers.
What is the cost of DermaPen treatment?
A single treatment of DermaPen for the face is £220, but one can purchase a package of 6 and actually pays for 5.
