Laser Hair Removal Marylebone
If you find yourself spending much too long on hair removal or fretting about unwanted hair, then it is time to make a change. Past hair removal methods can be time consuming, expensive (when you add it all up) and frustrating! If you have ingrown hairs, hair springing up where it is unwanted or itchy grow-back, then you will love laser hair removal. It is fast and effective and it is a permanent hair removal method.
Our lasers target the hair follicle using laser energy which destroys it at its root while preserving the surrounding skin. This process is called selective photothermolysis (photo means light and thermolysis means to destroy with heat). It is selective as it targets hair and not skin.
After your treatments the dead hair will start to shed, it may look like they are growing but they are just being pushed out by the skin. As you continue on with your treatments the area can start to go patchy and then be hair free all together.
Here at Pulse Light Clinic we recently opened our second clinic just around the corner from Marylebone. We have over 15 years of experience in the laser industry and masses of experience dealing with all varieties of skin and hair types. We own a variety of different hair removal lasers meaning that we can tailor the programme directly around you and what your skin needs.
We deliver hair removal on all body parts for both men and women. We have two registered nurses on site and all of our practitioners go through rigorous training. We are open six days a week and are open until 8pm on weekdays. We also offer same day free consultations and if you want to see client feedback then check out our rave reviews on Google Plus.
Laser Hair Removal for Asian & Darker Skin Types
Laser hair removal is now suitable for all skin types. We have a wealth of knowledge in treating different skin types here at Pulse Light Clinic and we have the ability and confidence to provide you with the best laser hair removal treatments for all Asian and darker skin types.
At your consultation, the laser hair removal practitioner will go through all the lasers that may be suitable for you and may patch test you on multiple lasers. That way we can determine which one is right for you. We have four different lasers suitable for Asian and darker skin, this really helps when finding the perfect laser for each client as hair type varies from thick hair to fine lighter hair.
So you too can get rid of any unwanted hair and on top of that you will also see no more ingrown hairs and a reduction of any unwanted skin pigmentation too.
Laser Hair Removal for Men
Men now make up to 40% of our client base. As it is hassle free and doesn’t require regular treatments for life like waxing or shaving it can be quite popular among men. With laser hair removal, once your treatments are finished, you are done, permanently.
Other than just permanently removing hair, another very popular thing for men is hair reduction. If you feel you are excessively hairy but don’t want to be hair free then hair reduction is a perfect middle ground whereby you continue your hair removal treatments up until a point that you are happy, leaving you with just the right amount of hair left.
Due to the higher levels of testosterone that men have it requires more treatments to achieve smooth, hair free skin than women. Most men require a minimum of 8 treatments and usually up to 4 top up treatments to completely remove all the hair.
How long does a laser hair removal treatment take?
This varies depending on what body part you plan on treating. A small area such as a moustache or chin would be under ten minutes whereas a larger area such as the back or full legs could be up to an hour.
How many treatments will I need?
As this varies from person to person it is hard to say exactly but usually a course of 6-8 treatments will see the hair permanently removed. Once you get started on your treatments your practitioner should be able to tell you more exactly what you will personally need.
How long a gap do I need between treatments?
For facial hair you will need a gap of four weeks between appointments and for treatments on the body you will need about a gap of six weeks. This is because the hair cycle on these different types of hairs varies slightly and it is important to catch the hair during an active stage.
Is it painful ?
There is some mild discomfort but nothing unbearable. It is often described as similar to having an elastic band pinged against your skin. If you are finding it difficult, then just tell your practitioner who can pause or give you some soothing gel.
What precautions should I take throughout my treatments ?
Avoid sun exposure at least two weeks before your treatment, wait for tanned skin to fade before beginning your treatments. Do not bleach, pluck or wax during your course of treatments or in the run up to your first treatment.
