Pros and Cons of different types of Hair removal – Part One
We thought we could examine some of the popular types of hair removal looking at the Pros and Cons so you can work out what is the best method of hair removal for you! In part one we look at waxing, shaving and epilating. In part Two we will look at depilatory cream, Electrolysis and Laser hair removal.
Pros: The hair is removed for an average of three weeks leaving smooth bump free skin.
Cons: Waxing can be quite painful as it is ripping the hair out by the roots! It is not permanent and you will need to pay for a treatment every few weeks…or brave trying it on yourself at home! It can also leave ingrown hairs.
Pros: The real pro to shaving is that it is cheap, pain-free and you can do it from home very fast.
Cons: Shaving over a long period can make the hair grow back thicker and can also leave dark spots on your skin caused by the hair not being removed from the root. Shaving is also prone to leaving ingrown hairs and worse of all it grows back within a few days!
Pros: Like waxing the hair is removed for an average of three weeks and it is cheap to do at home.
Cons: Epilating is described as very painful. It is prone to creating ingrown hairs and takes quite a long time to remove the hair! It can also cause redness on the skin.
The key thing looking at these is that none of them provide permanent removal and so it has to become to a key part of your regular routine, which though cheap at first can become expensive over the years. You can guess what method we will recommend for permanent removal in Part Two…Laser Hair Removal…shhh!
