Pros and Cons of different types of Hair removal – Part Two
In the last blog we started examining some of the popular types of hair removal, waxing, shaving and epilating. We looked at the Pros and Cons of these so that you can work out the best method of hair removal for you! Here is Part Two, looking at depilatory creams, electrolysis and Laser Hair Removal.
Pros: It is quick, easy and cheap to do from home. After many uses these creams can leave finer hairs with slower re-growth time.
Cons: The chemicals used in these creams have a horrible smell and can irritate sensitive skin. They can also leave ingrown hairs.
Pros: Can remove hair permanently and works well on light-coloured hair.
Cons: It treats each hair follicle separately which can be very time consuming. When improperly done it is possible for this to lead to scarring or skin discolouration. There is some pain during treatments and multiple sessions are required. This treatment can be quite expensive.
Laser Hair Removal
Pros: This is excellent for long term and permanent hair removal as it actually destroys the hair follicle itself. It causes no damage to the skin. Laser hair removal can be used on all skin types, dark to light, sensitive or not.
Cons: There can be slight pain during treatment and you will need multiple treatments for it to become permanent and so it can be expensive.
Some people think that Laser Hair removal is quite an extreme length to go to for hair removal but when you look at the Pros and Cons of many different types and the amount of time and money spent over the years you can see that it starts to be the most economical in both time and money!
