Skin Tag Removal

Skin Tag’s can be a day to day irritation as well as being unsightly. Skin tags are small, jelly texture, soft and skin-coloured growths that hang off the skin and look a bit like warts and are stretchy. Skin tags are commonly found on eyelids, neck, armpits, groin folds, and under breasts.

At Pulse Light Clinic we can safely remove unwanted skin tags in multiple areas of the body using advanced electrolysis techniques with sterex technology. This technique provides very little downtime after treatment and no test patch is needed.

Michelle is our senior practitioner at Pulse Light Clinic Fenchurch Street who will assist you with any skin tags you would like removed, she will ensure you will be at ease throughout the procedure and answer all questions you may have at your free consultation.

Skin Tag FAQ

What do skin tags look like?

Usually, they are soft, skin-coloured and small. However, the size can be as little as millimetres and as big as 5cm. They can be identified as they hang off the skin and are knobbly. Skin Tags are not contagious or painful.

When can a skin tag be a concern?

Skin tags are painless and do not usually cause harm.
Yet, you may think of a skin tag to be removed if it's impacting your appearance, mental health or confidence, but also if you hook on garments or jewellery and bleed.

Why does a skin tag appear?

Usually, the leading cause for skin tags is Collagen, a type of protein that can be discovered on the entire body. Skin tags consist of blood vessels surrounded by skin and loose collagen fibres. Everyone can produce skin tags, although they occur more often to a group of people like the older, diabetes type 2 and obese people.
Hormone levels are another factor that could support developing skin tags so that many pregnant women are likely to grow skin tags. There is no apparent reason for developing them in a few rare cases, but it could be skin rubs against itself, like the neck, groin, thighs or armpits. Another area is where the skin folds, like under the breast or a belly, and this is why overweight people with excess skin can develop skin tags easier.

Is it safe to remove skin tags?

Before you decide to remove a Skin Tag, you should speak to a GP, do not attempt to remove it without consultation. Regardless of the size, it's a safe procedure when a practitioner removes it. Some side effects could cause temporary skin discolouration and irritation when removing a skin tag with electrolysis.
